Xmas & Bodykit
Posted by daveyboy on Dec 10 2002 at 12:00 AM
Its 14 nights untill Christmas, so Merry Xmas to you all and a Happy New year, just in case I don't make another update untill after Crimbo!

On the side, I have saved up a fait bit of money, im looking at getting a Bodykit for my car. I am seriously thinking of an Aggressor front bumper and im definately getting the Aggressor side skirts as I adore them, and before anyone says this; no I am not copying Matt it just so happens that great minds think alike. I have been totally original on my planning for my Bodykit. I think I may get a one off rear bumper made up and I am getting a 206 WRC spoiler fitted with an X50 bonnet panel. All fitted and sprayed. The kit probably wont be on the car untill late Feb or early March due to Xmas & New year and availability of spraying the parts, Also by that time Id hope to have the money raised in full - I reckon im looking at 2k in total for the lot!
Body colour rear clusters
Posted by daveyboy on Oct 21 2002 at 12:00 AM
Over the weekend I found the time to finish sanding and spraying my spare rear clusters body colour (Panther Black) Big thanks to Tom Chapman for his help and at long last they are done and on the car. The light shines through very well, much better than expected. A little advice for anyone thinking of doing this; get pearlescent paint from Halfords it is much easier to use than any other spray paint!

Also, My car hit 16,000 last night! DoH!

Trax, Bass Box & 14k!
Posted by daveyboy on Sep 10 2002 at 12:00 AM
Went to Trax 2002 with some of the other lads at! It was nice to see a few new faces and put faces to the names I see on the forum. The event was also great, made me feel a little sick after looking at the amount of work done to some of the cars tho, and then looking at my standard Zetec-S! :-) Oh well, when I get the money.
While I was their I bought myself a custom fit bass box from Auto Acoustics. It fits snug into the side of the boot leaving plenty of boot space. Next up im getting myself a 12" Kenwood W1225DB Woofer and a KAC-929 Sub to power her. I'll let you all know of the outcome.
Also my cars reaching 14,000!! ARGH.
10K Service
Posted by daveyboy on Aug 3 2002 at 12:00 AM
My car went for it's 10,000 mile service this week. Got my first stamp in my service history log! The service cost me 99.95 for a new filter, oil change and labour & service. I suppose it wasn't too bad (except they charged me 25quid for the replacement oil. Ggrr. But still at least there was nothing wrong with my baby! They said my tyres are wearing thin tho, gotta cut down on the amount I use my handbreak
Farnborough airshow!
Posted by daveyboy on Jul 28 2002 at 12:00 AM
Absolutely fantastic! After seeing all those lovely aircraft i've decided to part exhange my Zetec-S for a Euro-Fighter :-) Damn I wished!

Went to the airshow on Sunday, what a lovely day for it too (34 degrees in the sun) Saw nearly all my faveourite aircarft including the Harrier jumpjet, Hercules, The famour damn buster; Lancaster bomber, the almighty spitfire and the Euro-Fighter to name but a few! I really do hope they hold this event again in another two years!
Sold my bass box!
Posted by daveyboy on Jul 24 2002 at 12:00 AM
A couple of weeks back it was my brothers birthday, and as a present I sold him my Kicker impulse 12" sub and 400W Amp for a pathetic 100. There is a method in my madness, I have just ordered myself today from Auto Acoustics a stealthbox for a Kenwood 12" sub. Next month I'll order the Kenwood KFC-W1225DB 1200W Dual voice coil bass box. But for the time being, I am currently running my kenwood headunit on standard front ford speakers and Kenny 6x9's on the rear shelf. I cant wait for next month tho!
Damn oil bottles
Posted by daveyboy on Jul 16 2002 at 12:00 AM
Bought myself a brand new large bottle of oil to keep me going for a while. I topped up my motor and used the "re-sealable" lid to close the oil bottle. Carefully placed the oil in my boot for transportation home. Got home, opened my boot to find the lid had come off and spilt all over my boot. Soaked my floor, parcel shelf, amp, sub THE LOT! I was not best pleased.
Insurance & Vandalism
Posted by daveyboy on Jun 10 2002 at 12:00 AM
Ive been looking into getting all my scratches repaired, the total cost in a garage will cost me just under 1000 as these idiotic vandals has scratched nearly every panel possible!! So I was thinking of just claiming on my insurance. However it looks as if it would be more beneficial if I just paid out of my own pocket as I would save money in the long run (provided I don't claim in the future)

Im with Direct Line, Im 20 (21 in Sept) with 1 years NCD. Next year I'll be 21 with 2 years NCD and my insurance qoute will be about 800. However if I make a claim (vandalism) I will lose my 2 years NCD. So next year my insurance quote with a claim would be 1600. So it would be much more beneficial if I just got a grand loan and paid for the repairs outright.

Damn vandals, damn metallic paint, damn insurance companies!!!
Damn vandals!
Posted by daveyboy on Jun 2 2002 at 12:00 AM
Once again my car has been scratched and pretty bad this time aswell. Looks like someones scrapped a brick down the passender side rear panel! I can see this going to cost a heft amount to repair :-( Ive definately decided to get myself a Clifford Concept alarm system with warning bark to 'shoo-off' these nasty vandals, im gonna go cry now.....
