Puma 1.6 it's an expensive Zetec-S
Posted by Stephen on Jun 22 2001 at 9:37 AM
Auto Express reviewed the new edition Ford Puma. A new, affordable 1.6-liter entry-level Puma model has arrived. The newcomer fills the gap left by the 1.4-liter version, which was discontinued last year, and, at a price of GBP 12,280, slots in at GBP 700 cheaper than the existing 1.7-liter Puma in the range. As far as the specifications list goes, it is identical to its more expensive stable mate, with ABS brakes, traction control, driver's airbag, RDS stereo and a perimeter alarm system included in the asking price.

Stephen's comments:
This is the Zetec-S with Puma hat on... it starts at 12,300 too. I stick with me Zetec-S Thanks.

"I'm sure you'll all agree with the highlights... great piece of journalism!"

In his 17,500-mile farewell report, What Car's Alisdair Suttie reports on his experiences in the Fiesta 1.6 Zetec-S.
[...] The Fiesta has an ever-improving fuel economy. [...] The engine's willingness to work also improved with time. [...] A hard day's driving left the car eager for more. [...] Three hours and 120 miles of thrashing around the Silverstone track underlined the brilliance of the chassis and steering.

Evening all,
It's the last day of great week! I was lucky enough to get hold of a Racing Puma for a few days this week... it the second time I've had one and the experience this time was even better... The wheel base is so wide... it has imsense cornering ability!!! the exhaust note, sparco seats... ENOUGH!

Anyway this is a Zetec-S site so I'll get to the point... Thursday night I jacked up the Puma and put the 17' beauties on my Imperial Blue Zetec-S.... the fact that the wheels were too wide and stuck out the arches by a good 1'... However seeing the 15's and 17's together the difference is amazing... So if anyone is interested there's a set of 4 Zetec-S wheel (15') unmarked with only 3,000 on the Pirelli tyres 300...

I took some pics with the digital camera which I'll post on the site as soon as I work out how to do it...

That's all folks!
